Deca Air-Slides

Exceptional Material Flow Solutions

Ongoing Blockage Prevention
The Deca Air-Slide is an air injection system that combines the power of a blaster with the sophistication of controlled feeding to eliminate arching, rat holes, and caked-on material.

Why Deca Air-Slides Work
Powerful mini-pulses of air are directed between the material and the container wall to sweep and lift material off sloping surfaces. Loosened material falls toward the outlet, initiating downward flow of bin contents. Sequenced, timed firing of strategically positioned Air-Slides maintain positive and controlled outflow with minimum expenditure of air.

Where to Use Deca Air-Slides
Any place that granular or fine material builds up or bridges is appropriate for Air-Slides, the most effective of Deca’s bin discharge systems. This includes: metal, concrete, wood, plastic, or fiberglass containers. Deca Air-Slides work on hoppers, bins, silos, chutes, conveyor transfer points, larry cars, centrifuges, batchers, rotary kiln chutes, spray dryers, pipes, and dust collectors. Air-Slides can operate in temperatures above 900 degrees Fahrenheit and can be piped for installation inside containers.

Why Use Deca Air-Slides
The Air-Slide is cost efficient and energy efficient! The average system uses less than 10 CFM of plant air – less air than air pads, blasters, lances or pneumatic vibrators. Plus, there is no damage, vibration, stress or wear to container walls and no need to empty bins or stop production. Installation is easy. The Air-Slide eliminates labor-intensive, costly rodding, hammering or air-lancing.

Why Deca Air-Slides Last
Only one moving part, the piston, features a dust-type nozzle that quickly re-closes and reseals after firing. Fines and feedback material are locked out, eliminating clogging and jamming. For added strength and wear resistance, Deca Air-Slide parts are machined from blocks of high grade steel. Quality control is strict. This ensures reliable, trouble-free performance and keeps Air-Slides operational for years without attention.

How Deca Air-Slides Work
The Air-Slide uses a total approach system consisting of strategically located Air-Slides with integral dust-type solenoid valves, an air receiver and an electronic sequencer-timer.

Powerful mini-pulses of air are directed between the material and the container wall to sweep and lift material off sloping surfaces. Loosened material falls toward the outlet, initiating downward flow of bin contents.

material flow solutions

Unlike a conventional air blaster, the Air-Slide system does not cause flooding or overloading of material into the discharge. Instead, because the system uses several strategically placed nozzles, material outflow can be controlled by sequentially firing the nozzles from lowest to highest. By firing from lowest to highest, the material is always flushed away from the discharge first, initiating flow before additional material is activated from above.

Nozzles are sized based upon cone or hopper size; Air-Slide coverage is typically 60% of the cone or hopper; less if only aeration is needed (e.g. for flour, or other readily fluidizable materials; sometimes more for material that is very heavy, wet, sticky, or with very poor flow characteristics).

Up to an 8 foot diameter of material is dislodged via Air-Slide flow-aid devices. The system can also be piped for installation inside containers.
